Romantic overnight stay in a unique B&B in a small castle in the Champagne region

For a weekend getaway, you sometimes don't have to go very far. Just across the border, you often find beautiful places that are worth exploring. In the Champagne region, for example. There you can romantically stay overnight at Chateau de Picheny. Where you can relax and fully enjoy the "joie de vivre".

In the west of the "official" Champagne region in France stands the charming Chateau de Picheny. A cute little castle that was transformed into a special bed & breakfast in 2017 and is in the hands of the dedicated Belgian owners and hosts Vincent and Erik.

This B&B is a beautiful spot with a striking interior, describable as colorful chaos: the library/dining room and suites are decorated with Toile de Jouy (romantic prints) and furnished with classic and romantic pieces of furniture. By the way, the suites are named after the original owners of the 18th-century castle: Charles Hippolyte, Victoire Pauline, and Marie Hélène Aimable and all have a bedroom, a boudoir, and a bathroom with a Victorian bath and a separate shower.

You get up and go to bed with a beautiful view of the beautiful French castle garden and the valley "Les 3 Vallées". And then you also have a comfortable bed with ultra-soft linen where you can dream wonderfully, fluffy bathrobes, fabrics from La Maison Pierre Frey from Paris and of course again the photogenic, antique pieces of furniture.

Waking up in the morning is delightful. Every day a lovely breakfast is served, with fresh croissants, homemade marmalade, champagne, and fresh fruit. On Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, you can also reserve the 'Menu du terroir'. Depending on the weather, you can then feast on an appetizer, main course, cheese board, and dessert prepared by Vincent with love on the terrace or by the fireplace.

During your stay at B&B Chateau de Picheny, you can enjoy each other in your beautiful room and together explore the world of champagne. In short, the ultimate getaway for a romantic weekend away.

    A piece of history

Close to the tourist area of the Champagne region, you'll find the beautiful Chateau de Picheny. A unique and authentic castle that was built in 1869 by the French architect Hippolyte Blanche and remained in the hands of the Blanche family until 2017. Today, it is owned by the Belgian owners Vincent and Erik, who have turned it into a special B&B with respect for its history.

    Suites with tasteful details

Just like the rest of the chateau, the three suites also exude enormous grandeur. Moreover, you can see that every detail has been thought through: from carefully selected antique furniture and colorful wallpaper to a romantic bathroom with a clawfoot tub. There is also homage to small details, such as the golden needlework on the bed linen and the beautiful colonial and vintage finds.

    A romantic weekend getaway

Chateau de Picheny is the ideal getaway for a romantic weekend away with your love. Sleeping in this idyllic chateau is not just an unforgettable experience. The surroundings of this unique House of Hideaways accommodation will also amaze you. You can take beautiful walks in the land of Claudel, visit fairytale castles, and take a carriage ride together.
