Luxury design guesthouse with rooftop swimming pool and home-style restaurant, in the charming center of Brixen

Welcome to Brixen (also known as Bressanone), a charming town in South Tyrol in northern Italy, near the Austrian border. After Merano and Bolzano, Brixen is the third largest town in South Tyrol with around 21,000 inhabitants, and also the oldest in this region. It offers a cozy and charming center where you can immerse yourself in history. In the heart of the historic center, you'll find ADLER Historic Guesthouse, a place where you can enjoy your stay during your travels. The hotel is excellently located, within walking distance of the old cathedral and all other attractions. On the hotel's rooftop, you'll find a delightful spa featuring a heated outdoor pool, while the "Tagesbar" offers breakfast, freshly brewed coffee, or an aperitif. Within walking distance of the hotel, you'll discover restaurant Vitis and the renowned cozy Finsterwirt, both integral parts of the hotel, offering excellent culinary experiences.

    Modern and comfortable rooms

ADLER Historic Guesthouse is located in a beautiful 16th-century building, which underwent a complete renovation in 2023. As a result, you'll stay in designer rooms with a modern interior and equipped with all the comforts. The former hotel has been transformed into a luxury guesthouse with a minimalist and soothing interior. Fortunately, you can still find characteristic elements throughout the hotel, such as vaulted ceilings, old doors, and unique wall tiles. This allows you to still experience a bit of the atmosphere of the past. Each of the 43 rooms has a unique design, and although each room is different, you'll want to sleep in every one of them. They all look beautiful and offer everything you need. In addition to an ultra-comfortable box spring bed where you can wake up refreshed every morning, there is a well-stocked minibar, air conditioning, and a lovely rain shower in the room. Some rooms offer views of the river promenade, the surrounding mountains, or the church towers of the historic center.

    Restaurant Finsterwirt

In Finsterwirt, the cozy living room restaurant of the hotel, you can indulge in culinary creative masterpieces inspired by local cuisine and the seasons. You'll find this restaurant just a 1-minute walk from the hotel, near Piazza del Duomo. And it's definitely worth a visit! In spring, for example, you can savor an asparagus-inspired menu, from a flavorful asparagus soup to even a dessert of saffron-infused panna cotta with asparagus ice cream and salted caramel. The restaurant has been in existence since 1870 and has been owned by the Mayr family for six generations. Currently led by Christoph Mayr, Finsterwirt remains one of the best restaurants in Brixen. Another delightful detail is that, due to its long history, the restaurant boasts over 400 Italian and international wines. The wine cellar is indeed a treasure trove for wine enthusiasts, with wines aging for decades, waiting to be savored.

In the middle of the historic center

Brixen is a true gem in South Tyrol and will surely surprise you. From the hotel, you can walk straight into the city center. The narrow medieval streets invite exploration without the need for a map or Google Maps. Just wander around, and you'll naturally find yourself at Piazza Duomo, where the imposing Brixen Cathedral stands. This cathedral, with its two baroque-style towers, dates back to the 18th century and is definitely worth a visit. Enjoy the atmosphere as you stroll past the pastel-colored facades and follow the promenade along the tranquil river flowing through the city. Take a break at one of the terraces and mingle with the locals. Taste delicious dishes at a local delicatessen and end your day with a good glass of wine in a cozy wine bar. In short, Brixen offers a delightful mix of history, culture, and culinary delights, all within reach for an unforgettable day.

    Spa and heated outdoor pool

At ADLER Historic Guesthouse, after a day of sightseeing, you can retreat to the luxurious wellness area. The stunning spa features a heated outdoor pool with views of the cityscape and mountain peaks. Additionally, you'll find a hammam, a fitness center, and the option to request a muscle-relaxing massage.
