Design boutique hotel with luxury wellness & spa, located on the Vrijthof in Maastricht
A night or weekend in Maastricht? Then Maison Haas Hustinx is exactly what you're looking for! This unique getaway is located in two beautiful Art Nouveau houses right on the Vrijthof and is fantastically decorated in collaboration with the Danish top design brand, Normann Copenhagen. Moreover, the property is in the heart of the city, so Maastricht is literally at your feet. The hotel also recently added a luxurious spa & wellness for an extra relaxing weekend break.
In Maastricht, it's all about coziness. Life here moves a gear down from the metropolis and is more about pleasure. And that's ultra nice when you want to escape the daily grind. Furthermore, Maastricht is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, which is why it is full of historic mansions, churches, and cozy squares. You can also wander through the narrow, winding streets, catch a bit of culture, shop in the many boutiques, or just hop from bar to bar.
If you like having everything at your fingertips during your city trip to Maastricht and being able to roll into bed in the evening, then Maison Haas Hustinx is the ideal place to stay. Moreover, this unique boutique hotel is not only highly recommended because of its excellent location. The eclectic interior also contributes in a big way: French oak floors, art by young artists, beautiful design furniture, marble bathrooms, and details from the past that have been well preserved. The combination of old and modern elements intrigues and guarantees wow and awe moments when you enter the building.
This beautiful style is implemented by owner Rik Wagemans along with the Danish top design brand, Normann Copenhagen in the rooms, apartments, and suites, which all look like gems and are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, Apple TV, a Nespresso machine, a luxurious bathroom with walk-in shower and a thick, fluffy bathrobe. And last but not least: in most rooms, you'll find a king-size Auping bed, where you can sleep wonderfully and wake up refreshed. After a restful night, you can start your day with an extensive breakfast, which you can book for €22.50 per person. Sounds great, doesn't it?
And recently, there is also a luxurious spa & wellness where you can pamper yourself. It consists of a Finnish sauna, hammam, experience showers, and a swimming pool. For an extra zen moment, you can also book a massage or facial treatment. Also, the Safar café is a new addition, where you can enjoy classic Levantine dishes from Friday to Sunday, inspired by honest cooking and simplicity, to reveal the true nature of ingredients.
Maison Haas Hustinx is the ideal base if you need some relaxation and want to enjoy a night or weekend away in vibrant Maastricht.
The story behind Maison Haas Hustinx
Maison Haas Hustinx consists of two beautiful art nouveau houses: Maison Hustinx and Maison Haas. Maison Hustinx is the former home of the renowned photographer and world traveler Alphons Hustinx, who brought color films and photos of other cultures to Maastricht in the 30s and 40s. Maison Haas was once the residence of Madame Haas. She was known for her interest in flowers and tea saloons. Since 2017, both properties have been owned by Rik Wagemans. A young hotelier, who was inspired by the duo and turned it into a unique place in the middle of the city, together with the Danish top design brand, Normann Copenhagen.
Intimate and small-scale
Marble bathrooms, French oak floors, and large windows; the interior of Maison Haas Hustinx exudes an enormous amount of grandeur. Not to mention the iconic design pieces and the authentic ornaments that can be found in the atmospheric rooms, suites, and apartments, and the panoramic view of the Vrijthof. Normann Copenhagen has done a fantastic job creating a place that combines elegance with contemporary comfort.
Dining out in Maastricht
In the Burgundian city center of Maastricht, there is a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and it is full of great eating establishments. From trendy burger bars to starred restaurants; there is something for everyone. However, during a weekend in Maastricht, you should not miss Petit Café In den Moriaan. It is the smallest café in the Netherlands and is located in one of the city's oldest buildings (1546). Here, they serve delicious wines, and you can order platters with cold cuts, grilled vegetables, and cheese. For a delicious lunch with classic Levantine dishes, you can, of course, visit Safar, the café of Maison Haas Hustinx.
The Vrijthof
In the winter, you will find the largest Christmas market in the Netherlands on the Vrijthof. In the summer, the square serves as the setting for Andre Rieu's summer concerts and the Preuvenemint. You will also find plenty of cosy terraces and historic buildings there, such as the Saint Servatius Church, the Saint John's Church, the Spanish Government, the Hoofdwacht, and the General's House.
